Andreas Bjelland's mind is fully focused on Brentford but he will be keeping an eye on the draw for the 2018 World Cup.

The defender helped Denmark book their place in Russia by dashing the Republic of Ireland's dream with a 5-1 win at the Aviva Stadium.

But, while he will be following the draw, Bjelland's mind will be focused more on claiming victory over Fulham.

He said: “I have to focus on Brentford. Tomorrow, we see which teams we get and the manager and assistants look at that and we have friendly games in March.

“We've got friendly games in March to build for that so, right now, it's about Brentford so we've got to get points there.”

It will surely be going through the minds of Bjelland, Lasse Vibe and Henrik Dalsgaard that if they perform well and help the Bees perform they will book their ticket to Russia and the centre back confirmed just as much.

He added: “That's football and how it works. You can't perform as an individual if the team isn't performance.

“We're building something with the team for a couple of years. You have tough games where you don't play well but if you stick together.

“It's the really important thing for a team like that. If we can get more togetherness, we look great and we look better as individuals as well.”

As for who the Danes can face in Russia, Bjelland doesn't mind who they face but knows his fellow countrymen will be going through the pots and deciding who they'd want to face and who to avoid.

He admitted: “Not really. I saw the manager of the Danish team saying he wanted Russia, Peru and Panama so if you could get that, that'd be great.

“If you get Brazil, Spain and say South Korea or Serbia it looks tough. We'll have to see tomorrow. It's going to be interesting to see who we play and where we play.”
