Kamo Mokotjo is pleased with how he has adapted during pre-season training at Brentford but knows that what happens during the actual campaign is what matters.
The South African had his first taste of playing three games in a week in England as he featured against Southampton, MK Dons and Celta Vigo.
And the combative midfielder believes he is ready to help the Bees put points on the board when they travel to Sheffield United next weekend.
He said: “I'm pleased with how I've adapted during the pre-season but it's more about what happens in the league that matters.
“It's my responsibility to get ready for the league campaign and I'm ready to contribute.”
“As a team, we are looking good. We're going to give the coach a hard time in picking the first XI but it's only good for the team. It's looking positive,” he added.
“We played Southampton and Celta Vigo and we were able to stick to our plan. Mentally, that's a good showing from the team. I think we're ready for the start of the campaign.
“Everyone is ready to go. For me, it's a new thing and I'm looking forward to the experience. At the end of the day, it's about the results.”
