Mark Warburton is confident a failure to take more of the chances they are creating will not come back to hurt his Brentford side.

The Bees boss again admitted his side should have beaten Gillingham more comfortably than Friday night's 2-1 scoreline suggests, and that his side would have been left to rue missed chances had David Button not made a brilliant save late on to secure all three points.

There were echoes of the 3-1 win at Peterborough on New Year's Day, when Warburton said the only criticism he could offer was his players not putting away more of their chances.

He said: “We created a lot of chances, and my only criticism, is for us to be more clinical. No (I don't think it will come back to hurt us). If we keep playing like that, then the rewards will come.

“You can always pick faults, but you have to focus on the positive aspects of our game. There was a lot of good football played on a very difficult surface.

"But we shouldn't have been in the situation we were in at the end, when we could have thrown two points away.”
