Kamohelo Mokotjo may be known as 'The General' in midfield but off the pitch the Brentford man likes to stretch his brain.

The South African international is a heavy reader and has enjoyed a variety of books from sporting autobiographies to philosophy.

Sports wise, he has particularly enjoyed reading about basketball legend Michael Jordan and Italy great Andrea Pirlo, while he also takes in the works of Paulo Coelho.

Mokotjo said: “I rest a lot. I do a lot of reading – I like philosophical books and Christian books. I've been reading autobiographies.

“The most exciting one I've read is Michael Jordan and Andrea Pirlo. Mostly, the philosophical books like Paulo Coelho and some Christian ones. It's a variation.”

Mokotjo has made 11 appearances since signing for Brentford from FC Twente in the summer.
