Konstantin Kerschbaumer is in need of more coaching if Brentford are to see the best from the Austrian.

The midfielder has shown flashes of quality but has not been able to stamp his authority on games so far in his time at Griffin Park.

And head coach Lee Carsley is keen to help him as much as he can in order to bring him up to the required standard.

He said: “He's done all right. He needs a lot of coaching. He needs help. He runs as fast as he can everywhere without being affective.

“We need to make sure he use his energy in the right way. He had a good chance as well. For someone to make the impact like we want him to he needs to score.”

Carsley's style is to get players to just play to their strengths and not bring their weaknesses into the game too much.

He added: “We just make sure we put them in the right positions and do the right things. There's no point in putting Kersch up front and making him like a Diego Costa. It's not his strength.

“If all of the lads do what they're good at we've got half a chance.”
