Brentford are making their final preparations ahead of the squad returning to pre-season training on Monday.

The Bees players, with the exception of those who were on international duty, will return to their Jersey Road camp to get ready for the opening day against Sheffield United.

And the Brentford coaching staff will be having a meeting tomorrow (Thursday) in order to put in the finishing touches to the plans.

Head coach Dean Smith said: “We've been planning the strategy for the season. Pre-season training was done. All the staff are in on Thursday and we'll sort out the procedures ready for the players to step in on Monday.

“All the players, apart from the internationals, will be in on Monday. The players have had five or six weeks off which is a good break for them.

“They won't have lost much fitness. It's an early start to the season so we've got to make sure we hit the ground running.”
