Brentford boss Andy Scott reckoned his side would be out of the division before the first kick of the season.

He reckons Brentford should have put four or five goals past Rochdale on Saturday.

Goals from Jordan Rhodes and Charlie MacDonald sealed the win, but both missed sitters, as did Nathan Elder late on.

But Scott said: "I am surprised we haven't scored four, five or six goals. I think if we had scored six goals everyone would have said it was worthwhile.

"We had a bit of pressure at the end but we could have won so much more comfortably it was ridiculous.

"You have to have two hands to count up how many good chances we had.

"We believe we've had a chance of getting out this division since the first ball was kicked.

"But you have to put your money where your mouth is and show it out on the pitch there."
