Brentford manager Mark Warburton has challenged his team to turn up the heat on their promotion rivals by beating Huddersfield tonight.

The Bees are just two points outside the Championship play-off places with 12 games left to play in the race to secure Premier League football for next season.

Warburton’s side saw their hopes of making the end-of-season lottery take a blow at the weekend as Birmingham were narrow 1-0 winners at St Andrews.

But they have an early opportunity to put that result behind them when Town visit Griffin Park under the floodlights in another massive game for the Bees.

Warburton said: “It’s a chance now to correct things and have a look at the squad. We can learn from this but we can’t dwell on it too long. We’ve got Tuesday night to come and a big game. It’s a full programme and everyone is playing. The demands on the players when we play Saturday and Tuesday are intense.

“This time next week we’ll be into the last 10 games. We’re coming into the home stretch and we’ve got to appreciate that there will be points dropped and points dropped but we need to keep ourselves in the mix.”

Alan Judge will play his 49th Football League match for Brentford if selected against Huddersfield, three days after making his 50th appearance in all competitions for the club.
