Brentford have confirmed that popular keeper Richard Lee will retire at the end of the season.

The 32 year old signed from Watford four years ago and was first choice stopper for his first two seasons, making 75 appearances between the sticks.

However, he then fell behind in the pecking order first to Simon Moore, and then to David Button , and has played only 12 games over the past three season, including only one this year.

Lee, who has also been battling a shoulder injury, signed a new deal last February which runs until the end of this campaign, but he will hang up his gloves at the end of it.

Jack Bonham, who like Lee came to the Bees from Watford, has been Button's understudy for most of the current campaign.
