Brentford have been handed a boost ahead of their trip to Aston Villa with Rico Henry, Josh McEachran and Sergi Canos all available.

The trio have been absent for the last few games with various injuries but all now come into contention for Saturday's game at Villa Park.

And head coach Dean Smith was feeling positive about his options ahead of the contest against Steve Bruce's side with only Lasse Vibe unavailable.

He said: “The squad is looking good. Rico Henry has trained all week. All the centre halves are fine.

“Lasse Vibe has come out of his protective boot that he had to wear after Ipswich. He'll be a couple of weeks.

“Josh McEachran is back training. Sergi Canos has played minutes during the break and he's back and available.”

There was better news as long-term absentees Lewis Macleod and Alan Judge are not far away from returning to full contact training.

“Lewis Macleod is close to full contact training and Alan Judge is not far away as well,”Smith added.

“Lewis is only a week or two away from full contact training. Alan has one more appointment before he gets the green light to go through throttle.

“Because of the length of their injuries I won't put a timeframe on a return to the squad.”
