Sam Wood insists boss Andy Scott doesn't need to do any wheeling and dealing for Brentford this month.

Wood, a summer signing from Bromley, reckons the Brentford squad which has shot to second in League Two in strong enough already.

He said: "We're a good strong squad. The team we've got here already is good enough to go up. We've been working hard in training and getting results.

"He could bring people in, but we've shown him we don't need anyone.

"We've just got make sure we keep tabs on Wycombe. Teams are going to start to break away soon, and hopefully we can keep in the top pack. We've just got to keep the results going."

Wood has been in fine form on the Bees' left wing, but the man who was working in a clothes shop this time last year reckons he can only get smarter.

"I was brought in as a left-back, but I played left midfield when I was at Bromley and I'm just working hard to keep my place," he added.

"The full-time training takes a while to get used to, but I'm trying to prove myself, and hopefully I can get better."
