Brentford FC have moved fast to find a replacement for Nathan Elder following the news that he is out for the season.

Elder fractured his cheekbone and eye socket during Saturday's 0-0 draw at Rotherham and may not even see out of his left eye for months, never mind play football.

And if Ipswich envoke their 24-hour recall clause with the on-loan Jordan Rhodes, the Bees will be left with only Charlie MacDonald as a first-choice striker.

As a result, Brentford boss Andy Scott this morning signed young Aston Villa forward Sam Williams on a month's loan.

The 21-year-old is yet to make an appearance for Villa yet, but has scored five goals in 22 loan games for Wrexham, Brighton, Colchester and Walsall.

Williams will go straight into the squad for tomorrow's home game with Barnet.
