Brentford fans turned up in their numbers to try and roar their team to victory against Blackburn.

The supporters were let down by those on the pitch as the Bees slipped to a 1-0 loss, thanks to Shane Duffy's goal for 10-man Rovers.

Head coach Dean Smith is under pressure and the Brentford boss is desperate to strengthen his squad after the game.

“We haven’t got the number of wins we think we would have done (since January) but to blame the current situation on our transfer policy is wrong because we can’t and won’t overstretch ourselves,” the Brentford head coach said.

“Blackburn are a big, strong and experienced side and in a different league budget-wise to us.”

He added: “We will be looking to strengthen in wide areas and defensive midfield. Alan McCormack gave us a bit more steel but perhaps we need a little more.

"We are losing too many games but we will work hard over the international break to put it right.

“Scott Hogan getting on will give us a boost and Leandro (Rodriguez) did well despite getting very little protection from the referee who stopped and started things, so there are some positives."
