Brentford duo close to signing new deals

Lee and O'Connor on the verge of agreeing contract extensions at Griffin Park

Staying put: Bees custodian Richard Lee is set to sign a new deal

Brentford duo Richard Lee and Kevin O'Connor are close to agreeing new one-year deals at Griffin Park.

Get West London revealed last week that the Bees were in talks with the experienced pair to extend their stays in TW8.

Skipper O'Connor and back-up keeper Lee are in the final six months of their current deals and have been restricted to bit-part roles this season.

However, boss Mark Warburton wants to keep the pair on board.

He said: "We're making good progress. It's just a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's. They are important people for the club going forward.

"We have meetings with them tomorrow and Friday, so hopefully that will be sorted very shortly."

O'Connor has made nine appearances this season, while Lee has played just five times after missing the beginning of the campaign with a shoulder injury.
