Brentford owner Matthew Benham has tweeted that Martin Jol is not on the shortlist for the vacant head coach job.

Reports had circulated during the day that Martin Jol had emerged as the leading candidate for the role and that Brentford wanted him to replace Mark Warburton.

However, Benham has taken to Twitter to rubbish the story claiming that there is “no truth” to the claim.

GetWestLondon learned yesterday that bookmakers were not taking bets on who would be taking the hot seat as the west London club already have someone lined up.

The Bees have conducted interviews with four candidates and hope to announce their new head coach in the coming weeks.
