Andreas Bjelland should be fit for Brentford's season opener against Ipswich, Marinus Dijkhuizen has confirmed.

The Dane has been struggling to shrug off groin injury concerns in pre-season but should be in line to face the Tractor Boys.

The Bees head coach said: “He's trained this week with the group. If he suffers no reaction tomorrow then he will be in the 18.”

Marcos Tebar, however, will be watching on from the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in training.

The Bees boss added: “He did his hamstring in training and will be out for a couple of weeks.

Sam Saunders, Lewis Macleod and Josh McEachran (foot) were not going to be fit for the game.

Dijkhuizen: Saunders played with the under-21 on Monday. He's trained with the group. Lewis is not fit. Josh's boot is in a protective boot. It'll take a long time.”
