Andreas Bjelland believes the 'quiet' nature of Brentford's summer has stood them in good stead for this season.

The Bees struggled after making a host of changes in personnel last year and the club admitted they did too much too quickly.

Just 12 months ago, the west Londoners sat perilously above the relegation zone but now they sit just adrift of the play-off places.

This summer has seen an evolution, rather than a revolution, at Brentford and that has led to the Bees making their best start since returning to the second tier in 2014.

Bjelland said: “I think we do really well as a group and we have a good unit. Some of the bigger teams have brought in some big players.

“The squad we have and continued from last year has built something with a couple of additions. If we can play like this at home and not concede, it'll be a great season.

“If you know (the critical factor in the team's form) it'd be really great. Last year there were a lot of changes and we maybe made too much noise.

“This year has been quieter with the same coach and a lot of the same players. We had a good pre-season without too much noise and we're working hard.”
