Maxime Colin is determined to return to Brentford next season an injury-free player.

The Bees full back has struggled with an abdominal complaint in the second half of the season and, at one stage, it was feared that he’d need surgery.

Colin made 21 appearances for Brentford during the campaign and quickly adapted to Championship football.

He said: “When I played it was good but I didn't play enough games for my liking. Hopefully next season will be better for my injury.

“I will be trying to fix the problems. We've got six weeks off. I've been speaking with the medical team and the gaffer.

“I will see my family. I need a break. I didn't have a break with Anderlecht. I need to have a break and come back the next season with a good head.”

Getting stuck in: Ishmael Miller and Maxime Colin.

Colin has also immersed himself into London life with his social media accounts documenting his adventures, notably when he encountered a squirrel in Hyde Park and when he posed with the waxwork Royal family at Madame Tussauds.

The Brentford star added: “I think it's a big city. When people visit, I show them London. It's really good to discover. I love Hyde Park and Piccadilly Circus. I love Hyde Park Corner.”

Colin remains grateful for the support he has received from the club's fans this season.

In a message to the supporters, he said: “I want to thank everyone. They really welcomed me with the best way possible.

“I love Griffin Park and the support. It's not been an easy season for me due to injury. I'm grateful to everyone at the club for being behind me. I'm really grateful for that.”
