Brentford have added another striker to their B-team ranks, bringing in Finnish youth international Marcus Forss.

The 18-year-old has agreed a two-year deal with the club after leaving West Bromwich Albion at the end of last season.

Forss, a Finnish youth international, scored six times for the Baggies in the U18 Premier League and featured in the Checkatrade Trophy last season.

Robert Rowan, head of football operations, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Marcus to the club after his scholarship with West Brom.

“Marcus is a number nine who currently represents Finland at Under-19 level. He was identified by our scouts towards the end of last season and tracked over the summer on international duty.

“We were looking to bring in another striker who can compete with Joe Hardy and Jan Novak to be our number nine.

“Marcus is actually quite similar to Joe in regards to their high level of finishing skills whether that be one-on-one, outside of the box or in the air.

“We will need to work on areas of his game to fit into our style of play but we look forward to that.

“Marcus will begin pre-season training with his team mates (on Friday) before travelling to Hungary in two weeks.”

He joins Ali Coote and Nikolaj Kirk in joining the club with the Brentford B team reporting to training today (Friday).
