Brentford look set up to wrap up deals for both Romaine Sawyers and John Egan in the coming weeks.

The Bees are believed to be close to signing Walsall midfielder Sawyers and Gillingham centre back Sawyers, both of whom have been long term targets.

Sawyers, 24, played under Bees boss Dean Smith for the Saddlers and featured in their FA Cup win at Griffin Park back in January.

John Egan advances under pressure

The Saints Kitts & Nevis international started his career at West Brom but made no appearances for the Baggies before moving to the Bescot three years ago, where he has bagged 19 goals in 159 games.

Republic of Ireland U21 international Egan, meanwhile, has been with Gillingham for two years, having also failed to make the grade with a top flight club in the shape of Sunderland.

The tough tackling 23 year old, who Brentford tried to bring in during the last transfer window, has scored 11 goals in 92 appearances for the Gills.

Both Sawyers and Egan are out of contract this summer.
