Jake Bidwell has paid tribute to Lasse Vibe after the Danish international returned to the goal trail with aplomb.

The turnaround in Brentford’s displays has been highlighted by Vibe, who has scored five goals in three games, after returning from international duty with Denmark.

And the Bees' skipper believes his improvement has rubbed off on everyone else at the club.

Bidwell said: “Getting picked by the new manager for the national team has done him the world of good.

“With five goals in a week, his standards have gone up in every aspect of his game, as it did with Judge. It raises everyone else’s standards.

“It’s great for them and great for the team as it rubs off on everyone else.”

Back in form: Lasse Vibe

Brentford ended any lingering threat of relegation by claiming three wins in row, scoring nine goals in the process.

And Bidwell believes the squad are full of confidence after a damaging March, which saw the Bees lose all of their games last month.

He added: “The first one was a relief after a bad run. It shows the confidence that breeds from a win.

“We’ve looked solid and in control and back to our old selves. We’re looking to finish the season strongly.

“The break gave us a chance to recharge mentally. The fans don’t enjoy watching a team who is not doing so well.

“It gave everyone a chance to go away and performances have shown we’ve used it in the right way.”

Broken leg: Alan Judge

The Brentford captain, like everyone connected with the club, was left 'gutted' after seeing the Bees' player of the season Alan Judge suffer a broken leg at Ipswich.

He added: “We’re all gutted for Judgey after the season he’s had. We’d have been in trouble without him. It didn’t sound or look good at the time.

“He’s a good character and when he does come back he’ll use it to drag him on.

“In my opinion, he’s the Championship’s player of the season.”
