Harlee Dean believes that a play-off finish is the minimum expectation for the Brentford class of 2016/17.

The Bees captain played a big role in the 2014/15 campaign where they finished fifth before losing to Middlesbrough in the play-offs.

And Dean sees similarities with the current squad and the Mark Warburton side that battled for promotion.

He said: “I believe the top six is a minimum with this squad. We've got young talent, experience and everything.

“It's a team that's reminiscent to the team that finished fifth under Warbs. I feel we're more solid.”

Brentford face Fulham on Friday night and Dean has history in this contest; making an error for the opening goal before scoring the equaliser in November 2014.

That goal is fondly remembered by Brentford fans but Dean's mind is focused on one thing: thee points.

He added: “That goal was a nice memory but I'll take a performance like tonight and a win over a goal any day.”
