Manager Mark Warburton hopes Chuba Akpom doesn’t come back to dent Brentford’s promotion hopes tomorrow.

The Arsenal striker spent a month on loan at Griffin Park earlier this season, making four substitute appearances for the Bees without finding the net.

Akpom returned to the Emirates in February but has now joined League One outfit Coventry City for the remainder of the season.

And Warburton is keeping his fingers crossed the 18-year-old doesn’t come back to haunt the Bees when the Sky Blues visit Griffin Park at the weekend.

He said: "Chuba's a good player but when he came here Marcello Trotta was playing well, so it was hard for him.

"When you leave a club like Arsenal and go on loan you expect to be starting, but League One is a good standard and you can't just walk into a team.

"It was a good learning curve. He's a talented boy and it's good to see him doing well. Hopefully he doesn't come back to hurt us."
