Dean Smith will be making changes for Brentford's trip to QPR in order to rotate his squad.

The Bees have had a difficult start to the season, picking up just one point from a possible 12, despite their performances deserving more than that.

It leaves Smith with a dilemma as to whether to make wholesale changes like he did for the first round win over AFC Wimbledon, or to opt for a first-choice XI, in order to give his side the winning feeling.

He said: “The players are confident anyway. We've got Wolves on Saturday as well. We've got a number of players who haven't played today like John Egan and Andreas Bjelland.

“We'll have to give some some minutes but we're restricted at the moment as we have a lengthy injury list and Ryan Woods on compassionate leave as well.”

John Egan heads home

The fact Smith namechecked the two centre backs would suggest that they will both be facing Rangers and the head coach suggested that the Wolves game was more important.

He added: “It'll be nice to go there and get a win but the important thing is our league form. We've played four games and we could be sat with 12 points but we have one.”
