Mark Warburton singled out Alan Judge for special praise following Brentford's 4-0 hammering of Wolves this afternoon.

The summer signing from Blackburn was his usual busy self in the middle of the park and put in a stunning performance, as well as scoring a delicious opening goal.

For Bees boss Warburton, the fact that Judge is one of his side's most experienced heads at the age of 25 shows just how much potential there still is to realise.

He said: “Alan Judge has been fantastic all season, and to get him on a permanent deal was a fantastic piece of business for us. The medical team keep trying to reign him in, but he is so infectious.

“He's only 25, and there's so much more to come from him. He's starting to show the quality he has, and the fact that he is one of our senior pros at that age says it all. When you look at lads like Jake Bidwell, Harlee Dean, Moses Odubajo, Andre Gray and so on, they are all young lads, and there's more to come from all of them.

“The difference between this year and last year is we take care of the ball more in key areas. One point off the top is a great place to be, and we deserve to be there.

“But it only takes one or two bad performances to bring you back down. If you let you standards dip in this division you get hurt, as we saw at Middlesbrough. To get Middlesbrough'd is a phrase we use now to keep our focus.”
