Brentford manager Mark Warburton has denied that there has been any meeting with QPR over taking charge at Loftus Road come the end of the season.

The Bees boss will leave Griffin Park after he did not want to be a part of owner Matthew Benham's long-term plans for the club.

QPR have been constantly linked with Warburton, even though chairman Tony Fernandes ruled it out, and some fans have tipped the move to be confirmed at the end of the season.

But the Bees boss dismissed those claims as nonsense and insisted his mind was fully on Brentford.

He said: “I've been stopped by fans saying it's a done deal and it's absolute nonsense. We've never met, never spoken to and I've never had a phone call.

“Chris Ramsey is a good friend of mine. That would never happen. No conversations have been had.

“No meetings have been held. Not even a third party enquiry because we've got a job to do with Brentford. They're scrapping and doing what they're doing.”

Warburton believes that there will be plenty of managers in the frame for the QPR job, should they decide to part company with Ramsey at the end of the season.

Under pressure: QPR manager Chris Ramsey

He is, though, prepared to speak to any club's representatives but only after Brentford's season comes to an end.

The Bees boss added: “They're putting two and two together and making five. QPR could go for a top Premier League manager. Sam Allardyce has been mentioned in the papers.

“I'm sure there'll be numerous people going for these various jobs. We're trying to win as many games as we can and see what happens at the end of the season.

“To say anything has been done now. I can't have a meeting when we're focused on Brentford.

“We've got a job to do here and if we do well, speak to us at the end of the season. Nothing has been done and it's completely untrue.”
