Dean Smith insisted that his Brentford squad believe in what they're doing, despite going nine games without a league win dating back to last season.

The Bees had led 1-0 in the early exchanges against Sheffield Wednesday thanks to Nico Yennaris' goal, ably assisted by a Kieren Westwood howler.

The west Londoners then missed a hatful of chances to extend their lead and they were punished for their wastefuless at the worst possible time.

However, Gary Hooper equalised on the stroke of half-time before Ross Wallace gave the Owls the win with 20 minutes to go as Brentford failed to deal with a corner.

“There's a danger but they're a confident group. They believe in what they're doing. There's frustration.

“We weren't switched on from the corner. We didn't take our chances as we should have been out of sight.”

Brentford will look to end their winless run when they face Reading on Saturday.
