Dean Smith called on his Brentford side to 'keep performing' as they host the Championship's bottom side Rotherham United.

The Bees will go into the contest as favourites to win and this will add new pressure onto them when they would have been considered underdogs when they faced Newcastle, Aston Villa and Brighton.

However, Smith believes that the Bees have proven they can cope with the expectations that come with playing at Griffin Park.

He said: “I think we handled that earlier in the season when we were doing well at home. We just have to keep performing.”

The Brentford head coach has also been delighted with the way his side have recovered after being on the receiving end of a barrage from Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.

He added: “It took a lot out of the squad and thought we were comfortable until the 75th minute.

“There were a few players out there who hadn't played many minutes of late such as Kersch (Konstantin Kerschbaumer), (Romaine) Sawyers, (John) Egan and Rico (Henry).

“We've got players like Sergi Canos and Jota who have come back into the team. The energy levels did drop at the end and allowed them to come on.

“The recovery has been great and these players recover very well.”
