Brentford have had no nibbles yet for David Button, despite the keeper refusing to sign a new contract at Griffin Park.

The 27 year old, who has made more than 130 appearances over three season with the Bees, will be a free agent next summer when his current deal is up.

Brentford opened talks with the keeper back in May but no deal has yet been struck, forcing the club to move for Southend's Dan Bentley.

Many expect Button, a reported target for Championship rivals Leeds United, to now move on, but there has been no interest yet, according to Bees boss Dean Smith.

He said: "We're unsure what's happening with David. He's got a contract offer on the table, but the next decision lies with him.

"He has been in training this week and he's been doing really well. I hope he stays, but as Phil Giles said when we signed David Bentley, we cannot afford to be caught cold.

"There have been no inquiries from other clubs about David yet, we will wait and see what happens."

If Button were to leave, he would follow Jake Bidwell out of the exit door, following the former captain's move to west London rivals QPR last week.
