Mark Warburton revealed Liam Moore was dropped from the Brentford squad after struggling in the Bees' games with Birmigham, Huddersfield and Ipswich.

The Leicester loanee has not set the world alight since coming back to Griffin Park and has produced stuttering performances.

Warburton is not prone to bringing on defenders, except through injury, but in last week's 1-1 draw at Ipswich, he replaced Moore with Harlee Dean.

And the former Southampton man was in the starting line-up for the 2-1 loss to Cardiff with Tony Craig restored to the bench.

Warburton said: “I thought Liam had a tough week last week. He's an outstanding talent who has a bright future ahead of him.

“As we've done with Tony, Harlee and Tarky (James Tarkowski) we took him out of the firing line and we'll go from there.”
