Brentford boss Dean Smith is set to make a late decision on whether to include Sergi Canos in his matchday squad to face Sunderland on Saturday, writes Mark Ritson.

The Spanish midfielder has returned to full training after injury but is lacking match fitness.

Smith is also set to welcome back Kamohelo Mokotjo to the fold against the Black Cats at Griffin Park, while there are no fresh injury worries.

"Sergi is back in contention but not to start the game," he said, speaking to Get West London.

"He's only been training for the last ten days so he needs to get some match fitness under his belt really

"So we'll see if I put him on the bench or not tomorrow.

"Kamohelo will be back from illness, Henrik Dalsagaard is fine now after the last game but we gave him a couple of days off after that

"But we have everybody else training with us, apart from Rico Henry and Alan Judge who are the two longer-term injuries.

"Lewis MacLeod has been back with us now for a while and Sergi Canos has been back with us for the last ten days."
