Dean Smith has been delighted with the increased robustness of full back Maxime Colin.
The 25-year-old joined Brentford from Anderlecht in 2015 and his first season in English football was beset by injury and he only made 21 appearances for the Bees.
This campaign saw the Frenchman make 40 appearances, 38 in the league, for the west Londoners and he added goals to his game; finding the net on four occasions.
The Bees' head coach said: “He had an injury last season and was injured when I first came to the club.
“When he came back when we won 4-2 against Huddersfield and he was excellent and I thought what a good player. He's continued to do that.
“He had a few niggles towards the end of the season. He's built that robustness. He's played over 30 games this season and he's proven that he's a robust player at this level.”
