Brentford boss admits fears over Rico Henry after full back stretchered off at Boro

The Bees ace left the ground in a knee brace and on crutches and that injury forced Josh Clarke to come on at left back and he impressed in the role

Dean Smith admitted that Rico Henry's injury 'didn't look good' after the Brentford full back was stretchered off at Middlesbrough.

The Bees ace left the ground in a knee brace and on crutches and that injury forced Josh Clarke to come on at left back and he impressed in the role.

Smith, though, was concerned after the game with Henry going for a scan early next week.

He said: “He's got a knee injury. It didn't look good. He'll get scanned in the week and we'll find out where we are from there.”

Henry's injury increased the Brentford defensive crisis with John Egan and Andreas Bjelland both absent, which made the point more pleasing.

Smith added: It's more pleasing that we go home with a point from here. Chris Mepham made his first start.

“We had no John Egan and Andreas Bjelland. Lasse Vibe is missing. Sergi Canos as well. We're without a number of players.

“We've got our wide right and right back playing left back but I can't fault the performance.”
