Brentford came from a goal down to beat Preston and secure the first win at Griffin Park for head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen.

The Bees fell behind after 32 seconds thanks to Daniel Johnson's strike and they were starting to rally when the introduction of Sergi Canos changed the game.

The Liverpool loanee set up Lasse Vibe for an equaliser before Marco Djuricin scored a 65th minute winner.

Dijkhuizen said: “Sometimes you are lucky. We know Lasse Vibe is better as a number 10 and Sergi is more of a winger and has given the team a boost. It's Liverpool/Barcelona quality. He's had a good education.

“It's very difficult for the subs to come on given the intensity. He's boosted the team. It was a great half-hour for him.

“It's difficult to say about his role. He's not used to this level. Maybe it's best to play him for half-an-hour. I was surprised by his quality today. I think it's good to bring him in slowly. I think it's best for him.”
