Brentford claimed a highly deserved 2-0 win over Bristol City to start off the final run-in of the season in fine style.

The Bees were a league above the Robins for 90 minutes and the two-goal margin flattered the visitors.

Brentford started off on the front foot and Sergi Canos drew a fine save from Frank Fielding after Romaine Sawyers' cushioned header teed him up.

The Spaniard did find the net on 18 minutes as Bristol City failed to clear Yoann Barbet's free kick with Ryan Woods supplying the final pass.

The Robins' defence were poor all game and Brentford doubled the lead on 26 minutes as Jota's corner found Yoann Barbet. The Frenchman laid the ball back to Harlee Dean, who found Konstantin Kerschbaumer and his flick was headed home by Lasse Vibe.

Bristol City did create chances and Tammy Abraham struck the post but the Bees were content to cruise to a deserved victory.
