New loanee Dean Bowditch hopes to get his career back on track at Brentford.

Bowditch burst onto the scene five years ago by becoming the youngest-ever Ipswich player to score a hat-trick with a treble against Watford at the age of 17.

But his career at Portman Road has stalled, resulting in loan spells at Burnley, Brighton, Wycombe and Northampton over the past three years.

He said: "I've showed I can play at a higher level, and I'd like to be given the chance to do that again.

"Hopefully I can earn that chance by doing well here. It's good to know I'm settled here for three months as I have spent recent years spending one month here and one month there and not having time to settle.

"As a player, you want to be playing at the highest-possible level. But it's not been working out at Ipswich, and I agreed with the gaffer coming here would be the best thing for me."

Bowditch bagged a debut goal against Rochdale on Saturday, heading home Glenn Poole's five minutes into the second-half.

But first-half goals from Rory McArdle and William Buckley won it for the visitors.
