Brentford are set to be without Dean Bowditch for the visit of Notts County on Saturday unless a last-minute deal is sorted.

The Ipswich striker's loan deal ended on Saturday after he scored a spectacular goal at Lincoln, the culmination of a good run of form.

But no extension has been sorted so far, and Bees boss Andy Scott would have to meet a Friday deadline to field Bowditch against County.

Scott said: "We'd like to keep Dean and hed like to stay, but there are a number of factors.

"I've spoken to Ipswich, but it's not just about what they say, there are financial considerations for us too."

The finances available would be eased if Darlington extended the loan of Simon Brown, who was on the bench at Lincoln.

Darlo have not, as yet, made a move. But Scott said: "The fact they didn't have a game on Saturday meant they didn't have to move quickly."

Brentford have Nathan Elder and Alan Bennett back from suspension for the visit of Notts County on Saturday.

But, with rookie striker Ross Montague out for the season and Marvin Williams injured, the Bees have kept Moses Ademola in west London after recalling him from his loan spell at Welling.

Scott added: "It's been frustrating for us and Marvin. He comes back for a few games, then his hamstring goes again.

"It 's in the other leg this time, but we're trying to find out why they keep going."
