Despite a reported £7.5 million Crystal Palace bid for Charlie Austin - those who make a living out of predicting these things think the QPR hitman is going nowhere.

Palace are 5/2 favourites with Sky Bet to bag Rs leading scorer after being heavily linked with him today.

But it’s 8/11 that the man who cost Rs £4m in 2013 will stick around until the end of the season.

Palace return? Charlie Austin at Selhurst Park last season

The currently injured striker insists he will remain at Loftus Road until his contract runs out in June, but the club are caught between a rock and a hard place as they weigh up the next move.

If Austin leaves now, Rs double what they paid for him at a stroke. If not, he may improve Rs fortunes on the pitch - but walks away for nothing in the summer.

Austin has also been laid low with knocks three times this season that restricted his appearances to 16 out of 25. He has still bagged 10 goals, however.
