Brentford picked up their first win in the league season as Yoann Barbet and Nico Yennaris had a goal of the season competition between them.

The Bees, after a shaky start to proceedings, saw John Egan forced off after 15 minutes and replaced by the Frenchman.

However, they started to take control and opened the scoring when Barbet struck a free kick into the top corner from the best part of 30 yards.

That strike settled the visitors and put fear into the home side, who went into the game without a win as well.

The Bees had chances to extend their lead before the break with Ben Alnwick making a string of fine saves.

It would need something special to beat him and Yennaris provided it, driving a thunderous effort into the top corner to double the lead.

And, in the closing stages, Ollie Watkins scored the least best goal of the game as he rifled the ball into the top corner from 20 yards.
