Bolton defender David Wheater has hit back at QPR after pre-match comments about his pace, saying he may send the club an e-mail about the remarks.

Pre-game, Wheater was described as being one to 'struggle against nimble, fleet-footed opponents' and that Ian Holloway's side may have success against the defender by playing balls on the deck.

Bolton and QPR played out a 1-1 draw with Idrissa Sylla rescuing a point for Rangers , but Wheater has branded the comments made about him as being 'disrespectful' and that he may have to send them an e-mail about the comments.

He said: "It was very disrespectful. I can’t remember the last time I got out-paced.

"Obviously if there’s a little 5ft 5ins flier they might get around me every once in a while but put me up with anyone the same height as me and I’ll beat them in a race.

"I might be sending them an email.

"I don’t really understand it. If Usain Bolt came on the pitch I won’t beat him in a race for the ball but I can do more kick-ups than him, so it’s swings and roundabouts."
