Bobby Zamora admits the memories of his Championship play-off final winner will be tainted if QPR go straight back down.

The former Fulham frontman’s dramatic late goal fired Rangers to promotion to the Premier League at Wembley in May.

However, the Hoops have had a poor start to the season and are rock-bottom of the table after just one win from their opening eight games.

“Yeah, of course getting relegated would taint my goal,” admitted Zamora, “but I don’t think we will go down.

“We’ve got a good set of players, good togetherness and if we perform like we did against Liverpool week in, week out I think the results will come. You string three wins together and you are flying.

“I played in the Championship and you really miss the Premier League. It is 10,000 times bigger than the Championship. It is the best league in the world, so everybody wants to play in it.”
