Beesotted started their pre-season in fine fashion with victory over AFC Isleworth on Sunday.

Richard Smith's men got off to a slow start and fell behind early on from the penalty spot.

Skipper Mark Jones wasted a golden opportunity to draw them level when he saw his spot kick saved after Will Emmett was hauled down in the box. But it wasn't long before they levelled when Ross Malone headed home from close range.

Emmett put them ahead 10 minutes into the second half, and an Isleworth defender spectacularly put through his own net with a 25-yard volley to put the Brentford supporters' side firmly in the driving seat.

The hosts pulled a goal back, but the Bees hung on for a 3-2 win. Rob Balson and Rob Burville shared the man-of-the-match prize.
