James Tarkowski has warned Brentford can't afford to take Blackpool lightly ahead of tonight's trip to Bloomfield Road.

The Tangerines have lost both Championship games so far and were dumped out of the Capital One Cup by League Two Shrewsbury.

New Blackpool boss Jose Riga has overhauled the Seasiders squad with 17 new signings after escaping relegation last season.

But Tarkowski insists Mark Warburton's men won't be taking anything for granted as they look for their first three points of the campaign.

Getting stuck in: Tarkowski is enjoying the challenge of Championship football

He said: “People are probably expecting them to get beat every week but we can’t think like that.

“If we can perform like we have been doing we can come away with the three points.

“But we can’t underestimate them, they’re a Championship team for a reason.

“The club were in a crisis but they’ve got quite a few players in now. We can’t go in there expecting to win the game.

“They have got some good players there and players we need to be aware of and cut out their dangers."
