Brentford have snapped up Blackpool midfielder Marcus Bean.

The former QPR man was released by the Seasiders two weeks ago after they survived relegation from the Championship on the last day of the season.

The Hammersmith-born 23-year-old made 44 appearances for QPR between 2002-06, scoring twice, and played 15 times in two loan spells at Swansea, netting once.

He moved to Bloomfield Road two years ago and was initially a hit, but gradually fell out of favour and featured just 23 times, scoring once.

Bean also had a loan spell at Brentford's League Two rivals Rotherham United last season, appearing 12 times and again scoring once.

He is the Championship player Bees manager Andy Scott revealed exclusively in the Chronicle last week that he would be signing and is his third capture of the summer, following non-league purchases Moses Ademla and Sam Wood.
