Kevin O'Connor hopes the fact he has no history as a dirty player will help get his red card against Dagenham & Redbridge overturned.

The Brentford man had only been on the pitch for 15 minutes as a sub for Craig Pead on Saturday when he was controversially sent off for a lunge on Ben Strevens.

Bees boss Andy Scott has indicated he will look into getting the sending off rescinded as he thought it was harsh.

O'Connor said: "I was disappointed because I didn't think it was a red card.

"Their players didn't think so either, but the ref has got to give what he sees first off.

"I'm not that sort of player. It was my first ever sending off in 10 seasons, so hopefully we can get it reversed."
