Gordon Bartlett believes Jefferson Louis has proven the doubters wrong after his two goals against St Albans City .

The 36-year-old journeyman striker, who is at the 35th club of his career, had come under fire from supporters earlier in the season but is now at his best form and shone against St Albans.

And the Stones boss is delighted by the physical presence Louis provides up front.

Bartlett said: “The man of the moment is Jefferson Louis. He got a few pelters when he first arrived at the club and I got it as well for signing him.

“We knew exactly what we were getting. He's something different to what we've got. Over the last few games, we've proven why we've signed him.

“His physical presence is immense. The two goals he got were excellent and his surging run when he brushed off a much younger player than himself. It makes you smile.

“He went half the length of the pitch and he crossed the ball for Scotty Davies to score his first goal. He's proven the doubters wrong.”
