Neville Battatt won the Middlesex Senior Open Cup for Bedfont Sports at Yeading FC on Saturday with a stunning 25-yard free-kick.

He picked himself up after being fouled and dispatched a pin-point free-kick into the bottom left-hand corner on the hour mark.

Scott Bridgeman earlier equalised Tottenham-based Park View's opener on the stroke of half-time,scuffing home Scott Sheridan's corner.

It was a tough game in more ways that one for Bedfont. Their opponents were not only talented, having already won the County Cup this year, but also robust and were reduced to 10 men after a stamp on Matt Clarke, before Ricky Owen was stretchered off after a bad tackle.

It was also a good day for the second string, who were crowned Middlesex Senior Reserve Division champions after a 3-3 draw with title rivals CB Hounslow Utd Social Reserves.

Jim Powers gave Bedfont the lead, but CB fought back with three goal to go 3-1 up, before a Jeff Layden brace secured a point and the title.

The following day, Junior Hutchinson and Tosie Fasinro bagged a double each as Bedfont Sunday beat Hampton Village 6-3 in the West Middlesex Premier, with Rob Pierce and Adam Day also on target.

The Sunday A team also enjoyed a double-header win over Feltham Garrison, winning 2-1 and 3-1.
