Barnet have apologised to Bedfont & Feltham after the Bees' development squad failed to turn up at The Orchard for a friendly.

The Yellows were naturally frustrated after no opposition turned up, without being informed and Barnet have issued a public apology for the confusion, which they said stemmed from their U18 side playing QPR and manager Martin Allen keen to see some of the development squad in their 0-0 draw at Maidenhead.

A club statement read: “Barnet FC would like to issue an apology to Bedfont & Feltham FC for our failure to fulfil a pre-arranged friendly yesterday afternoon.

“With our U18s playing against QPR and a large number of our Development Squad involved in the first-team friendly against Maidenhead United, it was our understanding that the fixture had been cancelled.

“We accept full responsibility for the failure to properly inform our opposition, and are looking into the reasons behind the miscommunication that led to the confusion.

“We will be organising another friendly with Bedfont & Feltham in the near future to try and make up in some small way for our error.”

Bedfont & Feltham had enough players to play an intra squad game, which finished 4-4.
