Barnet coach Ulrich Landvreugd was desolate after the Bees crashed out of the FA Trophy following a 2-1 defeat to Grimsby Town on Saturday.

The Dutchman, who was deputising for his fellow compatriot Edgar Davids for the fifth consecutive game for media duties, was unhappy that the side's exit.

It means that the Bees will not have a potential cup final at Wembley this season and must now concentrate fully on pushing forward in the Skrill Premier.

Landvreugd said: “We started slowly in the first-half, especially in the first 25 minutes. We have conceded a goal in that time as well. The last 20 minutes of the first-half was better and we got a little bit more into the game.

"We created a lot of chances but you need to score those chances we had. Sometimes you can have opportunities but they were big chances, and we needed to score a minimum of one of those.

“I am very disappointed. I was looking forward to giving it a shot and trying to get to Wembley. So for me, personally, I am disappointed.”

Barnet travel to Hyde this weekend as they look to get back to winning ways.
