Barnet boss Martin Allen believes his players are coping with the pressure of being top of the league as they prepare to travel to Torquay United on Saturday.

The Bees are seven points clear at the Conference Premier but Allen knows his side must continue to be on their game if they are to secure a return to the Football League.

And as he prepares to take his side to Devon to face a Torquay side who have lost just one of their last six games the Bees boss says they can not look too far ahead.

“When you get to the top end of the league – like we are – it is a different ball game every week, he told the club's website.

"We are there to be beaten and everyone is looking to shoot us down. It has been like it nearly all season and thankfully the players are coping well.

“They are fully focused and know what they are up against. No-one ever talks about anything apart from improving.

"They have got a dream and everyone is working very hard to get to it.”

Allen also highlighted the importance of having so many leaders in his squad and added: “I have got about seven captains in this team, so sometimes I let them get on with it.

"There is no point in having all these senior players here, who have hundreds of League games; they have to be self-motivated and they are."

Barnet have no new injury concerns ahead of tomorrow's game.

Meanwhile the Bees have placed strikers Jamal Lowe and George Sykes along with midfielder Iffy Allen on the transfer list.

Young winger Adam Mekki, who joined the club in the summer, has also been made available.
